QSM currently has an opening in Washington, D.C. for a Consulting Professional – Consultant I. This is an exempt, full-time position.
Responsibilities:
- Provide IT management consulting and project schedule/budget estimation advice to clients
- Works as part of a high-performing, client-facing team
- Quickly learn QSM’s suite of parametric estimation tools
- Quickly learn Function Point Analysis
- Analyze the health of large software projects
- Use metrics to measure software project performance
- Document analysis and findings into reports and briefings
- Build extremely polished briefings, brief clients
- Immediately provide value to our client and consulting team
- Ability to aggressively learn new skills and constantly improve performance is a must
Required Skills, Education and Experience:
- Communication Skills: Excellent required
- Problem Solving Skills: Excellent required
- Education: Minimum four year college degree from an accredited school
- Experience: Ten (10) years of technical and management consulting experience with a broad range of governmental and/or commercial customer interaction, including experience using system development life cycle management tools. A graduate degree may be substituted for five (5) years of experience and a formal certification relevant to system and software management practices (e.g. PMP, CMS, Six Sigma Black Belt) may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
- Work history demonstrates initiative and proactive approach to working in teams
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance
- Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area
Desired Skills, Education and Experience:
- Experience working for a “Big Four” or other top tier consulting firm a plus
- Client Experience: U.S. federal civilian government agencies a plus
- Master’s degree a plus
- Function Point Analysis certification a plus
